There are loads of outdoor activities to do with your toddlers in Southampton and the New Forest (and even more all over Hampshire) but what do you do on the rainy days when you just can’t face going outside in their puddle suits and wellies? Lucky for families, there are loads of indoor activities all over Southampton and the New Forest, it’s actually pretty amazing how much there is to do and for very little cost!

1.) InJoy Centre, Ocean Village, Southampton

This is a really fun place to go on a rainy day because it has so much to offer children of all ages. There is a soft play area, trampolining and climbing walls. The great thing about this Centre is that it has toddler mornings so they can access the soft play area without the worry of them being trampled by older children. The trampoline park also has a toddler area and it is so much fun for the whole family to jump together!

2.) Sea Life Play, Marlands Centre, Southampton-

This is a great place again for all ages as they separate their massive space into two soft play areas, one for babies and toddlers and one for older children. There’s a little role play village and an area for crafts! I think art and messy play are so important for toddlers to dabble in. There’s also food and hot drinks so you can relax while your toddler is climbing about the soft play!

3.) I Wanna Be Role Play Village, Romsey-

I wish these role play centres existed when I was little! Miniature shops are set up all over the room with a hairdresser, cafe, grocery store, vets and a fire station. My daughter is obsessed with doctors and stethoscopes right now so the vet shop especially appeals to her! They also have a little cafe so parents can enjoy a tea while watching their toddlers play!

4.) Tiny Treasure Town, Otterbourne-

My toddler is obsessed with these role play centres so we love checking out different ones further afield with different role play stations! Another perfect rainy day activity, this role play centre has a vet, construction, space station, shop, beauty clinic and a home.

5.) The Crafty Bug Cafe-

This is a great little cafe which features pottery painting (so much fun to do as a family on a rainy day), toddler and sensory groups and a lovely little cafe. The pottery painting is fun for parents as well!

From pottery painting, trampolining and role play villages there is so much to do to keep your toddler active and happy in the New Forest and Southampton on a rainy day!
