How To Use Your Digital Images from Your Family Photography Session:
We live in an age where we take photos daily but do we ever print them? We have our child’s lifetime of images stored on technology that is notorious for failing. Will your digital images still be here 30 years later? So what can you do to put them into the real world and save them for generations of your family to come? Here are 4 ways to use your digital images in the real world:
1.) Gift your digital images
Everyone loves receiving framed photographs of their family. You are giving them the gift of a preserved memory! I love framing digital images and gifting to my parents because I know they will be cherished forever. There’s so many unique gift ideas out there too like wood blocks and metal prints if you don’t want classic framed prints.
2.) Hang and frame your digital images
So often we take pictures and they sit on our phone, computer or on the cloud. What is the point of that? These memories are taken to be seen! Printing them and hanging them on your walls helps the memories live forever and gives you the gift of being able to relive those precious moments daily. Children also love seeing images of themselves and their family on the walls. These positive memories are a huge influence on their upbringing.
3.) Create a Photo Book with your Digital Images
My favourite thing to do on a lazy day growing up was looking through our family photo albums and laughing at photos of us growing up. We’d laugh at my hair on Christmas morning when I was little or my brother’s Halloween costumes. We loved looking at our first pets fondly and the old decor of our first house. So many amazing memories live in those photographs.
So now I ensure that I print our family’s memories. I hate the thought of losing our memories that are taken on iPhones and so I try to print a photo book of our iPhone images every few months. For my iPhone photos I use albums from Snapfish as they often have a half price sale. I also print photo books of photos I’ve taken on my professional camera and a whole separate book for any family photography sessions we’ve had with a photographer. It is so important to have these memories for your children and their children. They will adore flipping through all the books to see how much they were loved and using them as a puzzle piece to put together memories of their childhood.
4.) Do Something Creative With Your Digital Images
There’s just so much you can do with photography, Grandparents love family memories turned into Christmas ornaments or a digital frame so they can see all their family play on a screen throughout the day!
