Including Your Pet Into Your Newborn Photography Session

How To Involve Your Family Pet Into Your Newborn Photography Session

If you have a pet in your family, you know the bond between them and your children is an important one. Pets can be an integral part of your family, so when it’s time to document the newest addition to the family with a newborn photo session, why not include them? A newborn photography session with your pet can be a great way to celebrate their place in the family and create lasting memories. Here are some tips on how to make sure your pet’s presence is captured perfectly in your newborn photos!

Preparing for the Newborn Photography Session

The key to any good photo session is preparation. That same principle applies when it comes to incorporating pets into newborn sessions. You want to make sure you create an environment that is comfortable for both baby and pet so the photos come out natural and relaxed. Here are some tips for prepping both before and during the shoot:

• Make sure all vaccinations are up-to-date and that your pet has been groomed prior to the shoot.

• Keep treats or toys nearby as rewards for good behavior during the shoot.

• Choose locations where there will be minimal distractions (as much as possible) such as a quiet room in your house or a secluded outdoor location.

• Be sure to keep an eye on everyone during the session so that everyone stays safe – especially baby!

• Take regular breaks if necessary throughout the session so everyone can rest and recharge before continuing as pets can become overstimulated.

Composing Perfect Shots in Your Newborn Photography Session

Once you’ve prepared everything for your shoot, it’s time to move on to composition! When including pets in newborn sessions, it’s important to focus on capturing moments of interaction between baby and pet rather than just posing them side-by-side. I love ones where dogs are looking at the newborn wriggling or licking their toes! Consider having someone else hold or interact with baby while you handle pet duties – this will help keep both baby and pet calm throughout the process. Check out my newborn photography gallery for more examples of pets in sessions.

Here are some ideas for shots with older babies and toddlers  you may want to consider:

• Capture candid moments of baby looking at their furry friend – these shots often capture intense emotion that makes for beautiful images!

• Let them play together – nothing quite captures innocence like babies playing with animals!

Incorporating pets into newborn photography sessions can be incredibly rewarding if done correctly; not only do they add another dimension of emotion but they help capture lasting memories of all members of your family together at once! With proper preparation and a little creativity, you’ll have no problem getting perfect shots of everyone enjoying each other’s company during this special time in life. So don’t forget Fido when planning out those precious newborn photos – he deserves his place in front of camera too!
