What To Expect In Your Southampton Newborn Session at Home:
So you’ve made the decision to choose me as your newborn photographer and for me to travel to you in Hampshire! What happens next? Upon receiving your deposit to reserve your session I then send you an email on how to prepare for our session- it’s filled with useful tips on what to wear, a link to my Client Closet and what rooms are best for your home session. When baby arrives I ask you to contact me within 48 hours to schedule in the exact session date, this way it’s less messy if baby arrives early or late as only 5% of newborns actually arrive on their due date!
On the day of our session I will arrive at about 11am so that we get the best natural lighting for our session. I love using natural light for lifestyle newborn sessions as it gives a gorgeous moody, romantic look. Usually we will have a cup of tea and get to know each other so that you feel comfortable with me. Then I will take a tour of your home and check out the spots with the best lighting, I usually end up shooting in the living room, main bedroom and the nursery but often I will find quirky spots like the stairs to shoot on! My goal with my newborn sessions is to make it as effortless and easy as possible for you. I am highly aware that you just had a baby, it’s all new and you are absolutely exhausted. So we go at a slow pace, allow baby multiple feeds and cuddles. I always listen to what baby is telling us and would never force a baby to pose. We do shots of you together as a couple with baby, individually with baby and of baby alone. We can do multiple wardrobe changes if you’d like and additional siblings or grandparents! You then will receive your gallery in two weeks and you can then pick the package you would like!
