What can you expect to happen in your Southampton maternity session?
I get that most people are very nervous for a maternity session, we are self-conscious of our changed body or are scared to “model”. However, I’ll let you in on a little secret, I prefer when you don’t have modelling skills! I loosely guide you with posing and try to get real emotion and connection out of you rather than a model going through a set of poses that they are used to doing. I love helping you, getting to know you and making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Maternity sessions are filled with excitement for what is to come and embracing that gorgeous bump of yours!
1.) Choose Location- First we need to choose a location- would you prefer posing in the privacy of your home or braving the elements for an outdoor session? Each have a completely different aesthetic but both are very natural and so much fun! I love doing maternity sessions in your Southampton home and outdoors in all the amazing spots for maternity photography in Hampshire.
2.) Client Closet- I have a range of dresses and robes for you to choose from for your maternity session. I’ve got dresses from Free People, Mii Estilo and Zara that all work well for maternity sessions.
3.) Variety of Images- I love getting a wide variety of images for you to choose from in your gallery and this means we have lots of wardrobe changes, lots of images by yourself and with your partner or other children. I love shooting in various rooms in a home session and multiple backdrops for an outdoor session. My goal is to get a wide range for you to choose from!
4.) Relaxed- My Southampton maternity sessions are so relaxed, I love getting to know you as a couple before baby arrives and discuss your pregnancy, names for baby and your birth plan! It’s all so exciting and I love being part of it!
